F.A.Q.

What’s the difference between an LED (like FACER), and Laser treatment?

As an LED, FACER provides gentler, safer, and broader coverage than a laser.

Both are effective for hair removal, but they differ in light source, intensity, and application.

LED offers more coverage with less heat. Meanwhile, laser hair removal uses a single, concentrated wavelength to penetrate the skin.

Since it is more safe and comfortable, the FACER is perfectly suited for barbershop use.

Can I buy my own FACER?

No, FACER is designed for barbershops, not home use. But you can visit us at conventions like Barber Expo, BarberCon Nashville, or Intentional Beauty Show! You can also ask your local barbershop to try FACER – they can visit facer4u.com!

Does FACER work on all skin/hair types?

Yes, FACER can target hair growth on all skin/hair types!
Please note that because it targets melanin in the hair follicle, it will produce the most effective results on those with light skin and dark/black hair.
Even so, folks with dark skin have had success with the FACER.
However, it will not work well on folks with light, blond, or grey hair, unless their hair is temporarily dyed a dark color.

Does it hurt?

No: FACER should feel effective, but it shouldn’t hurt. The treatment should be near painless and feel like a mild sunburn after its completion. Clients have told us it is much more comfortable than waxing, tweezing, or threading.

How many times should I use FACER?

You will see a visible reduction in hair growth after the first treatment. However, to permanently reduce hair growth, we recommend 8-12 treatments.

Can FACER work anywhere on the body?

Yes, even though FACER focuses on the neckline, beardline, nose, and ear hair, it works anywhere on the skin. For example, it has worked for a client reducing hair on his hands.

Are home-use LED hair removals as effective as the FACER?

Home-use LED hair removal are intentionally weak, in order to guarantee they can be sold broadly (as opposed to professional devices, like the FACER). As such, home treatment LED devices are not as powerful and effective as the FACER.

Why does FACER take multiple treatments to complete?

FACER slows and eventually stops hair growth by targeting hair follicles during a specific phase of growth.
